A night of two-step dancing with dance lessons from Native Texan followed by live music from Matt Tedder.
Matt Tedder is playing The Highball on Thursday, September 10, for a night of two-step dancing. The evening is presented by The Highball @ Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar, and it's for ages 21 and over. It's built around two parts: a dance lesson to get you moving and a full set to keep you there.
The night opens at 7 PM with a two-step lesson from Native Texan. If you've never tried it, this is where you pick up the basics—the footwork and the lead—so you're not just standing on the sidelines when the music starts. Once the lesson wraps, Matt Tedder takes over at 8 PM, and the dancing continues from there. The whole thing runs for about three hours, which is plenty of time to work through the lesson and then actually use what you learned on the floor.
Tedder is coming in from Nashville, Tennessee, for the date. The night is aimed at curious learners and two-step enthusiasts alike, so it works whether you're showing up with no experience or you've been dancing for years. If you're the former, coming early for the lesson is the way to go; if you're the latter, you can skip straight to the music.
