Blues harmonica player and vocalist Mark Hummel performs live at Antone's Nightclub, with special guests including Jimmie Vaughan.
Mark Hummel plays Antone's Nightclub on Monday, October 5. He's a Grammy-nominated, Blues Music Award-winning harmonica player, vocalist, and songwriter, and he's been leading The Blues Survivors for years. He's also the one behind the Blues Harmonica Blowout tour, which he's produced since 1991 and has featured names like James Cotton, Carey Bell, and Charlie Musselwhite.
While he's usually grouped with West Coast blues, he works across Delta blues, Chicago blues, swing, and jazz, so the night should pull from a few different corners of the tradition. He's not coming alone, either. The lineup lists Jimmie Vaughan, Johnny Nicholas, Anson Funderburgh, Wes Starr, Eve Monsees, Mike Buck, and Josh Fulero, with more to follow. It's a long list of names for one bill, and most of them are familiar faces around here.
