Weekly Thursday-night residency blending funk, R&B, soul and hip-hop with Austin vocalists and special guests, hosted by Azurah Vibez.
D-Madness is back at Flamingo Cantina on Thursday, August 20, as part of his Mad Vibez residency. It's a weekly Thursday-night takeover at the Flam Can that blends funk, R&B, soul, and hip-hop, with D-Madness and Rapid Ric leading the way and Azurah Vibez hosting. The residency is built around rotating Austin vocalists and special guests each week, so the lineup shifts every time it comes around.
If you haven't crossed paths with D-Madness yet, he's a multi-instrumentalist who writes, produces, and sings across those same funk, R&B, soul, and hip-hop styles, and he fronts his own one-man project playing several instruments at once. He also plays bass in the house band for the live comedy podcast Kill Tony—the group often called "The Best Damn Band in the Land"—and has helped the city earn its title as the Live Music Capital. The residency brings that same energy to the stage, keeping the focus on Austin singers and special guests.

The night is supported in part by the City of Austin's Live Music Fund Program of Austin Arts, Culture, Music and Entertainment. It runs from 9 PM to 2 AM, so it's a late one that stretches well into the early hours. Entry is $5, and it's 21+.
