Grammy-winning reggae artist Kabaka Pyramid performs live with The Bebble Rockers at Flamingo Cantina, with Ras I-Dre & Royal Frequency plus DJ Mista B.
Kabaka Pyramid and The Bebble Rockers play Flamingo Cantina on Saturday, November 7, from 9 PM to 2 AM. It's a full night of reggae, with Ras I-Dre & Royal Frequency and DJ Mista B opening the bill.
If you're not familiar with the name, Kabaka Pyramid—born Keron Salmon in Kingston, Jamaica—is a Grammy-winning Rastafarian lyricist. He blends reggae, hip-hop, and dancehall around socially conscious messages, and he's a key figure in Jamaica's Reggae Revival. He first made his mark in 2011 with Rebel Music, which included tracks like "Free From Chains" and "Warrior," the latter featuring Protoje. From there he formed the Bebble Team, which became the foundation for his independent label, Bebble Rock. He's backed on stage by The Bebble Rockers, the band he's known for touring with.
His debut album, Kontraband, came out in 2018 and was produced with Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley; it reached No. 3 on the Billboard reggae chart. Four years later, The Kalling took the Grammy for Best Reggae Album, and it featured the Marley brothers alongside Protoje, Jesse Royal, and Buju Banton. That's the kind of company he keeps, and that's the lineage you'll hear in the set.
