Jimmy Eat Brisket brings a night of 2000s emo, pop-punk, and post-hardcore to Rustic Tap Beer Garden on Friday, August 28. It's a free show, 21+, running from 9 PM to 11:55 PM.
The set is built around the sing-along hits of a long list of bands that defined that era. You'll hear A Day to Remember, Underoath, Alexisonfire, Brand New, Blink-182, My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, Jimmy Eat World, Paramore, Green Day, Sum 41, New Found Glory, Yellowcard, and Panic! At The Disco. That covers a lot of ground—from the pop-punk of Blink-182 and Green Day to the heavier post-hardcore of Underoath and Alexisonfire, with the mid-2000s emo of My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy sitting right in the middle.
It's a broad sweep of the scene, so you'll likely recognize a good chunk of the set regardless of which end of the spectrum you lean toward. The whole thing is framed as a sing-along, so it's less about standing back and listening and more about knowing the words and singing them with everyone else in the room. Jimmy Eat Brisket describes the night as high energy, full of throwbacks, surprises, and plenty of those sing-along moments.
