Interactive comedy advice show with audience-submitted material, cocktails, and stand-up at Eberly Rooftop.
Lip Service is taking over the Eberly Rooftop on Friday, September 18, for an interactive comedy advice show that doesn't follow the usual stand-up format. The night runs from 8 PM to 11 PM, with doors opening at 8 PM.
If you've only ever seen a comic stand on a stage and tell a set of stories, this is a different animal. The show is built around audience-submitted material, so the jokes come from the room rather than a notebook. The producers describe it as part stand-up, part anonymous confession booth, and part terrible group therapy. Because the material changes every single night based on who's in the seats, no two shows are the same.
The setting is the Eberly Rooftop, an outdoor venue on South Lamar that hosts a cocktail hour before the show kicks off. It's a 21+ room, so you'll need your ID. Between the drinks and the crowd-sourced material, it's more of a social night than a traditional comedy set.
