Libra Gate

Libra Gate takes over Otherworld on Friday, October 9, from 9 PM to 2 AM. It's a free party celebrating Libra season, and the whole night is built around the birthdays of two local DJs: Phamstar, whose birthday is October 9, and Gondra, whose is October 10. They're playing back-to-back, so the middle of the night is essentially a double birthday set.

Across five hours, the music moves through techno, hard trance, acid, house, groove, bounce, and breakbeat, with some of Austin's most consistent selectors on the decks. EM (Emerld), born in the Netherlands and now based in Texas, opens with an extended set from 9 PM to 11 PM. He channels European rave culture into the South Texas underground with hard techno and 303 acid, drawing on happy hardcore and hard trance. Phamstar takes over from 11 PM to midnight, and Gondra follows from midnight to 1 AM. Phamstar is widely regarded as a pillar of Austin's dance music scene, while Gondra has been a relentless presence on Texas dance floors since 2007, having opened for acts like 999999999 and Natte Visstick.

Closing the night from 1 AM to 2 AM is Selina Eshraghi, a self-described "booth-baddie turned DJ" who headlines across LA's underground scene and plays The Concourse Project here in Austin. Her sets pull from hyperpop, hard trance, and groove. On the visuals, Sean-Franc, who goes by ¡paquitoma!, provides live custom visuals and lasers. He builds real-time generative graphics and custom visual systems rather than playing prerecorded clips, so the visuals change along with the music.

Doors open at 9 PM at Otherworld, 213 W 4th St, Austin, TX 78701. Entry is absolutely free, though you'll need to RSVP first.
