A Leo-themed dance party with live music, Leo cocktails, tarot readings and a vendor market at The Far Out Lounge & Stage.
The Far Out Lounge & Stage hosts a Leo Zodiac Party on Saturday, August 1, a celebration put on by Howdy Gals, the inclusive women and POC-led booking and promotion group. It's built around the Leo season, with a lineup of three acts and a few extras to keep you there past the music. The night is all ages, though the venue itself is a 21+ South Congress bar, and there's a Hopfields food trailer on-site if you're coming hungry.
On the music side, End Of Evergreen pulls double duty, opening the night at 7 PM and returning for a second set at 9 PM. The Bottomless takes the middle slot at 8 PM, and DEDNAMEZ closes things out at 10 PM. Between the sets, the party side of the evening keeps running: there are Leo-themed cocktails, tarot readings by Aaron's Tarot, and a vendor market to browse.
The venue is The Far Out Lounge & Stage, 8504 South Congress Ave. It opened in 2019, run by Bay Anthon and Pedro Carvalho, and it holds onto a piece of old Austin by incorporating part of the original bar that opened on the site back in 1908. It took home Best New Venue at the 2020 Austin Music Awards.
