La Maquinaria, Los Pescadores, Vive Chihuahua

La Maquinaria Norteña headlines a full day of regional Mexican music at Plaza De Toros R3 on Saturday, August 22. It's billed as a regional Mexican music festival, and the whole thing leans on the fiery rhythm of norteño music. The lineup puts La Maquinaria Norteña at the center, joined by Los Pescadores del Río Conchos, La Furia del Bravo, Conjunto Amanecer, and La Reunion Norteña.

Los Pescadores del Río Conchos come from Cuchillo Parado, Chihuahua, and have been active since 1994. Their sound is built around saxophone and accordion, and you'll recognize them from songs like "Acurrucar" and "Vámonos a Marte." La Maquinaria Norteña is also a norteño-sax act, this time from Mexico and active since 2006. They're led by vocalist Sergio Soto "La Mozka," who shares the stage with Tony Nieto, Diego Ojeda, and Dany Márquez. Over the years, they've picked up Grammy and Latin Grammy nominations, along with nods from Lo Nuestro, the Houston Rodeo, and Arena CDMX.

Between those two, you've got the saxophone and accordion that define the norteño sound, and the rest of the bill—La Furia del Bravo, Conjunto Amanecer, and La Reunion Norteña—keeps that same regional energy going throughout the day. It's a long stretch of music, so you'll get a good sense of the style across several different groups rather than just one set.
