KPOP Nite - KATSEYE Edition

KPOP Nite - KATSEYE Edition takes over Highland Lounge on Thursday, August 13, starting at 9 PM. The whole night is built around KATSEYE, the group that's been making waves lately, and it's more of a party than a standard show. The night kicks off with drag performances from Yvonne D'Amour, Angel Rawze, Leia Sakura, and Tatiana Cholula, and from there it moves into a full album listening party and dancing with DJ Lavender Thug on the decks.

The occasion is the release of KATSEYE's new album, WILD. If you've been following them, you've probably seen them build up to this over the last couple of years. The group formed through Dream Academy, the survival show that put them on the map, and they've been rolling out singles since then. You'll recognize tracks like "Gnarly," "Touch," and "Gabriela" — the kind of songs that have kept their fanbase, the EYEKONS, talking while the full album came together. WILD is the record that brings it all together, and this night is essentially a listening party for it, with the drag sets and the DJ set keeping the energy up around it.

It's a 21+ night, but the doors are open to anyone 18 and older. Tickets are $10 for those 21+ and $15 for those 18+, so it's a pretty low bar for a full night of performances and dancing. Highland Lounge is at 404 Colorado Street in downtown Austin, and things get going at 9 PM.
