KOOP Vinyl Night Swim

KOOP Vinyl Night Swim returns to the Carpenter Hotel pool on Wednesday, July 22, from 6 PM to 8 PM. It's a monthly poolside gathering presented by the hotel in partnership with KOOP Radio, and this one is part of a series that kicked off on May 27. The whole thing is built around a few simple things: records spinning on the pool deck, people swimming in the water, and half-off bottles of wine to keep things moving.

The format is open, too. You're encouraged to bring your own records to share, so the music changes depending on who shows up and what they've brought with them. It's as much about the people as it is about the records—audiophiles and friends gathering by the water to explore music together. If you've got a few favorites you've been wanting to hear on a good system, this is a good time to bring them along.

Logistically, it's an easy one. The pool at the Carpenter Hotel is at 400 Josephine St, and entry is free starting at 5:30 PM, so you can get in the water before the music starts. The event itself runs from 6 PM to 8 PM, and admission is free.
