A karaoke night presented by Aira Juliet at Cheer Up Charlies, an LGBTQIA+ friendly venue with music, art and dance.
Kiki Karaoke is back at Cheer Up Charlies on Tuesday, October 13, presented by Aira Juliet. It's a night built around singing and community, and it returns to the same spot that's hosted it before.
If you're not familiar with the venue, Cheer Up Charlies is an unabashed everybody spaceβan LGBTQIA+ and friends hangout for music, art, and dance, with local kombucha on tap. That inclusive, open-door energy carries right over into the night itself. The whole thing is centered on people getting up and singing, with the community gathered around them rather than a stage separating the performers from the crowd.
There are, however, a few house rules you'll want to keep in mind before you pick your song. Absolutely no Hamilton is allowed, though Phantom of the Opera and Wicked are more than welcome. And if you're planning on singing Chappell Roan, the organizers say to bring your A-game. It's a lighthearted set of guidelines, but they set the tone for the kind of room this is: one that takes the singing seriously but doesn't take itself too seriously.

On the drink side, there are a few specials to keep you going throughout the night: $4 Montuckys, $6 wells, and $7 snack packs. Entry is free, though tipping the KJ is highly encouraged. Kiki Karaoke kicks off at 9 PM at Cheer Up Charlies, 900 Red River.
