A children's workshop where participants create 1920s-style stained glass art at the John Gillum Branch of the Austin Public Library.
Kids Create: 1920s Stained Glass is coming to the John Gillum Branch of the Austin Public Library on Wednesday, October 14, from 4 PM to 5 PM. It's a children's workshop where kids get to make their own stained-glass art, with the whole thing inspired by the style of the 1920s.
The session is part of the library's Centennial Celebrations, which mark a full century of the Austin Public Library serving the community from 1926 to 2026. The 1920s theme ties right back into that—the same decade the library first opened its doors. So while the kids are working on their pieces, they're also tapping into the era that started it all for the system.
If you can't make this one, there's another session coming up a week later at the Twin Oaks Branch on Wednesday, October 21, which is for ages 6 and up. Between the two, you've got a couple of chances to get the kids involved in the centennial celebrations.
