Classic rock band Kansas performs live at ACL Live at The Moody Theater, with Brother Cane as the opening act.
Kansas play ACL Live at The Moody Theater on Friday, December 4, 2026, with Brother Cane opening. It's a classic rock bill in the heart of downtown, and if you've never seen them live, it's a good place to start.
Kansas started as a Topeka garage band and put out their first album in 1974 after being discovered by Wally Gold. From there they grew into one of America's most recognizable classic rock acts, and they've stayed active across five decades. Over that time they've sold more than 30 million albums worldwide: sixteen studio records and five live ones. Among them are the sextuple-Platinum Leftoverture, Point of Know Return, and Best of KANSAS, the platinum live album Two for the Show, the quadruple-Platinum single "Carry On Wayward Son," and the triple-Platinum "Dust in the Wind."
Those songs have a life far beyond the records. The music video for "Carry On Wayward Son" is still among the five most played on classic rock radio. The songs themselves have turned up in commercials, video games like Rock Band, Guitar Hero, and Grand Theft Auto, and shows including Walker, Supernatural, Reacher, South Park, The Office, and The Simpsons. The band also starred in the documentary KANSAS: Miracles Out of Nowhere.
