A live blues, soul and rock and roll set by Jay Moeller, half of The Moeller Brothers and member of the Fabulous Thunderbirds, at C-Boy's Heart & Soul.
Jay Moeller plays C-Boy's Heart & Soul on Wednesday, July 22, starting at 6:30 PM. He's one half of The Moeller Brothers, and this is a solo outing. He describes his live set as a garage mix of raw blues, soul, and rock and roll.
Moeller's path to the stage started when his father brought home an old set of drums. From there, he and his brother dug into the family record collection and came up with Jimmy Reed, Slim Harpo, the Rolling Stones, and the Kinks. Those early discoveries eventually led them to back many of the artists they admired, including Lazy Lester, Sam Myers, James Cotton, and LouAnn Barton. These days, they're members of The Fabulous Thunderbirds.

C-Boy's Heart & Soul is at 2008 S. Congress. It's owned by Continental Club owner Steve Wertheimer, who dedicated the place to C-Boy Parks, who ran the now-defunct Rome Inn. It opened on New Year's Eve 2013 and hosts Dale Watson's Chicken Shit Bingo on the back patio on Sundays. The night is 21+ only, and there's no cover.
