Jason "Spicy G" Goldman and his eleven-piece big band are playing the Parker Jazz Club on Tuesday, July 21, with vocalist Joie Bianco. The show is billed as The American Songbook After Dark.
If the name doesn't ring a bell, the credits might. Goldman is a Grammy-winning producer, arranger, and bandleader who's spent years working at the top of the adult contemporary and jazz worlds. He's produced and written on Michael Bublé's last four albums, including the 2023 Grammy winner Higher, and he produced and arranged Bublé's Billboard No. 1 Adult Contemporary hit "Let It Snow." He also co-wrote and produced the title track from Nobody But Me, which featured Black Thought of The Roots. As a multi-platinum producer, songwriter, composer, and engineer, his work has racked up more than 500 million streams worldwide.
On stage, he's worked with a long list of names: Wayne Shorter, Terence Blanchard, Queen Latifah, Michael Feinstein, Chris Isaak, and Wayne Newton. He's also released four albums under his own name. For this show, he's fronting an eleven-piece big band, with Joie Bianco on vocals, and the program is The American Songbook After Dark—a title that points toward the classic standards of the Great American Songbook, given the big band setup and the adult contemporary background.
