An intimate, immersive dance theatre experience set in a 1950s parlour, following seven women through the hidden corners of their lives.
Wild She Dances brings In Spite of All the Roses to Klerje Coffee at 1614 E. Sixth St., with the opening run from Thursday, October 15 through Sunday, October 18, at 8 PM. After that, it settles into a monthly rhythm: the second Thursday through Saturday of every month, 8 to 10 PM, from October 2026 through May 2027.
It's an immersive dance-theatre piece set in a 1950s parlour, and the format is a big part of the experience. Instead of sitting back in a seat, no more than 20 audience members follow seven women into the hidden corners of their lives: a housewife's kitchen, a daughter's desk, a happening bar. You aren't a passive observer; you're part of the world each character inhabits. The setting is the post-war era, seemingly prosperous and defined by conformity, but the show looks beneath that gleam at the longing and quiet resistance underneath. The company describes it as funny, haunting, and deeply human, with the recurring idea that each woman's cage is the same, just with different locks.

Because it's immersive and limited to 20 people per show, the tickets are tiered. The House Guest is $75, the Parlour Package is $100, and the Starlet Package for Two is $300, which works out to $150 per guest. The opening run starts Thursday, October 15, at 8 PM, and then the monthly dates run the second Thursday through Saturday of each month, 8 to 10 PM, through May 2027, all at Klerje Coffee on East Sixth.
