A book club discussion on the anthology This Arab is Queer, exploring LGBTQ+ Arab literature at the Asian American Resource Center.
The Hyphenated Book Club meets at the Asian American Resource Center on Thursday, July 23, to discuss This Arab is Queer: An Anthology by LGBTQ+ Arab Writers, edited by Elias Jahshan. It's part of a recurring series run by the AARC that brings together community book lovers to explore the diversity of American literature through an Asian American lens, programming new releases by emerging voices alongside community favorites across fiction and non-fiction.
This Arab is Queer is an anthology of work by LGBTQ+ Arab writers, and the session is for readers 18 and over. The AARC itself works to create a space of belonging and healing for Asian American communities in Austin and beyond through community collaborations, rental space, cultural and educational programming, health and wellness initiatives, and art and historical exhibitions.
