Live rock and roll benefit concert for HOME, featuring Hunt Sales, Jay Moeller and Chris Duarte, during ACL Fest weekend.
Hunt Sales & His Filthy Bitches play C-Boy's Heart & Soul on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 1:30 PM. It's a rock and roll benefit for HOME, whose proceeds support housing programs for aging Austin-area musicians. The lineup adds the Jay Moeller Extravaganza and Chris Duarte to the bill.
If the name doesn't ring a bell, the credits should. Hunt Sales is the drummer and singer behind the opening beat of Iggy Pop's "Lust for Life," a member of David Bowie's Tin Machine, and a longtime Austin musician. He's been a part of this city's music scene for years, and this is a chance to catch him on his home turf.
The venue is C-Boy's Heart & Soul, on the corner of South Congress and South First. It's billed as the swankiest club in SoCo, opened by Continental Club owner Steve Wertheimer and dedicated to C-Boy Parks, who ran the now-defunct Rome Inn. It opened on New Year's Eve 2013 and still hosts Dale Watson's Chicken Shit Bingo on the back patio on Sundays. The upstairs bar recedes from the raucous downstairs in a room modeled after its sister venue just down the street.

The date falls during ACL Fest weekend, so it's one of the many shows running while the festival is in town. Tickets are $20, and it's a 21+ show. It starts at 1:30 PM, so you'll be out of there well before the evening rush.
