A musical session by Hot Luck at the Assembly Hall in Austin, part of the festival's culinary and music series.
Hot Luck is bringing its House Party to the Assembly Hall on Saturday, October 17, from 6 PM to 9 PM. It's a live music session that sits right in the middle of the festival's wider run, and the venue is at 1121 E 7th Street in Austin.
If you're not familiar with the name, Hot Luck is a DIY fusion of the culinary and music worlds. It was started by James Beard Award winner Aaron Franklin, James Moody—principal of Guerilla Suit and owner of Mohawk—and Mike Thelin, a co-founder of Feast Portland. The festival returns each Memorial Day Weekend, and it partners with The Southern Smoke Foundation. There's also a souvenir merch store for anyone who wants to take a piece of it home.
The House Party is one of the specific events that make up the festival, and this particular session runs for three hours on a Saturday evening. It's held at the Assembly Hall, so you'll find it on East 7th Street. The music is the main feature here, and it's part of the broader Hot Luck experience that brings together food and live performance.
