The bill is part of 'Last Wednesdays,' the club's regular mid-week series hosted by Goth Dylan, and the show is supported in part by an Austin Live Music Fund Grant from Austin Arts, Culture, Music and Entertainment.
Sahara Lounge is a laid-back music dive in the rural stretches of East Austin, in a neighborhood once known as the 'Hog Pen.' It opened in 2011 when the beloved BYO-liquor roadhouse T.C.'s Lounge retired, adopting a vaguely African theme and fencing in a back patio. The venue keeps a big, unpaved parking lot and a tiny corner stage, and when enough people start dancing it feels as if the old building might buckle. Capacity is around 150, and the room shakes with rock, funk, Afro-jazz, hip-hop, country, Brazilian, and garage rock seven nights a week.
