Good Pollution, a circus synth-punk act, returns for one night with Wet Dip, Dromez and Free Body Ensemble.
Good Pollution are back at Mohawk on Sunday, August 30, for one night only. They're playing with Wet Dip, Dromez, and Free Body Ensemble, all local acts, so the whole bill stays within the city.
If you've never run into them, Good Pollution is a Philadelphia-based "trashgender entertainment brand" that describes its work as "circus synth-punk lunacy and freakish behaviour." The duo actually started as a corporate art collective here in Austin back in 2022, when they set out to "spread awareness about the joys of late-stage capitalism." That corporate angle is part of the act, and the synth-punk sound is the music they build around it.
They're returning to Austin on the heels of their new album, Gross World, which came out on July 23. Since they're only playing one night, this is the only chance to catch them in town for a while. The other three on the bill—Wet Dip, Dromez, and Free Body Ensemble—are all Austin-based, so the night is a mix of a visiting headliner and a local supporting cast.

Mohawk is at 912 Red River, a multi-level anchor of the street that's been voted Best Live Music Venue in the Austin Music Poll. It's got a spacious outdoor stage surrounded by balconies, great sound, several bars, and a cosier inside room. Over the years it's hosted some outsized SXSW appearances, including the Stooges, the Specials, and X. The show starts at 8 PM.
