A night of sex education, games, live music and a market of female-owned businesses, with 50% of proceeds to Jane's Due Process.
Joy Resistance Network is putting on Girls Just Wanna Have (Fundamental Human Rights) at Eberly on Friday, September 4. It's part of their Ultimate GNO, and the whole night frames the fight for bodily autonomy as a celebration of girlhood, pairing women's rights advocacy with a night out. Half of the profits go to Jane's Due Process, an organization that provides legal support, 24/7 hotlines, and healthcare navigation for Texas teenagers facing restrictive laws.
The evening mixes sex education with games and prizes, a market of local female-owned businesses, and an intimacy presentation by Infinitely You on wellness and sex products. The organizers welcome girls, gays, theys, and green-flag guys.
There are a few different ways to spend the night. The vendor market runs from 6 PM to 10 PM, so you can browse the female-owned businesses early and stay for the rest. The games and presentation happen from 8 PM to 10 PM, and if you're still going, a DJ set at Industry follows from 10 PM to midnight. You can drop in for any part of it or stick around for the whole thing.
