Fuck This Week is back at Fallout Theater on Monday, August 24, at 8 PM. It's an improv show that turns a bad week into a night of comedy, and it's been running downtown for seven years now. The whole thing is built around one person from the crowd venting about their week—work, a breakup, a botched DoorDash order—and the cast improvising a show around it. The Austin Chronicle called it "totally fucking worth it."
It's part of Fallout Theater's "Weekly Shows (BYOB)" collection, at a venue that bills itself as the city's newest destination for comedy and its premiere home for alternative improv, sketch, and stand-up. The BYOB part is a big part of the appeal: you can bring your own drinks, so you're not paying theater prices for a cocktail while you watch someone's terrible Monday get turned into a joke. The room is 21+ to consume alcohol, and the show is recommended for audiences 18 or older because of mature content.

If you've never seen it, the format is pretty straightforward. Someone takes the mic and tells the room exactly how their week went south, and the cast takes that story and runs with it. It's a different show every single time because it depends entirely on who's in the room and what they've been through.
