ArteStudio Austin is hosting another Vino al Arte on Friday, August 28, from 8:30 to 11:30 PM. It's part of their Friday nights ArtEstudio series, which runs every other Friday, so if you miss this one, there's usually another one a couple of weeks later. The session is led by artists Claudia Montero or Daniel Taylor, and the project is inspired by photographer artist Adriana Ponzanelli and her photograph of Maui.
If you've never been, Vino al Arte is a bilingual English/Spanish sip-and-paint night for adults. It's designed for beginners, so you don't need any prior painting experience to join in. The instructors guide the session step by step, and the whole thing is framed as a way to wind down the week with art, conversation, and new friends. The bilingual format means it works whether you're more comfortable in English or Spanish, or both.

Turner, Paul Klee, Kees Van Dongen, Pablo Picasso, and Daniel Taylor are among the artists who have served as inspiration. The focus is as much on the process as the finished piece, so you'll get a sense of how those painters actually worked while you build your own version.
