A family-style dinner inspired by Chef Ale Kuri's Lebanese background and the flavors of the Levant region, served as a set four-course meal.
Chef Ale Kuri is taking over Bar Toti on Wednesday, August 26, for a family-style dinner she calls Flavors of the Middle Este. Kuri is the Chef de Cuisine at Este, and this one is personal: the menu draws from her Lebanese background and the flavors of the Levant region, the eastern Mediterranean coast that stretches from Syria and Lebanon down through Jordan and Israel.
It's a set four-course meal, served family-style, which means the plates go in the middle of the table for everyone to share. The menu leans on locally sourced produce, fresh-baked pita, charcoal-grilled meats, and seasonal spreads. If you've had the Levant region's food before, you know the drill: plenty of dips, grilled meats, and warm bread to scoop it all up. The drinks are handled separately, with cocktails by beverage director Patrick Wasetis and a wine list from Celia Pellegrini available à la carte throughout the night.
