Fak3 5miles

Fak3 5miles plays Valhalla on Monday, October 5, at 9 PM. It's a headlining slot for the Dallas-born songwriter, vocalist, and musician, who's been playing around Austin for a while now. He's not coming alone: the night includes a booth appearance by @austinvideostore and visuals by @benbuckbeatbox, so there's more to the room than just the stage.

If you're not familiar with him, Fak3 5miles is hard to pin to one sound. He describes his style as nu alternative punk, rap, psychedelic, pop, and experimental avant-garde—a wide net that covers a lot of ground. He's best known for the single "Star" from his debut album Ukiyo Lucid, and for "all my lies," a collaboration with the indie pop-rock band Valice. He also fronts Grim Village as the Wounded Healer, a project with a grittier anti-pop rap sound.

He doesn't do it all solo, either. He performs live with a band that includes Ricci Valice of Valice, Brad Day of Fuzz Lightyear, and Ryan O'Connor. That's a fair bit of Austin's local scene backing him up. He's also got some hardware on his shelf: he won the 2024 Underground Voices "Who's got next?" rap competition, and he's played a good stretch of the city's rooms, including The Mohawk, 13th Floor, and Far Out Lounge.

Valhalla is at 710 Red River St in downtown Austin. The show starts at 9 PM, and it's a $5 cover, 21 and up.
