Eastside Open Mic

Rozco's Comedy Club is hosting the Eastside Open Mic on Wednesday, August 5, from 8 PM to 11:30 PM. It's a stand-up comedy open mic night, which means the stage is open to comics coming in to work on their sets rather than a single headliner carrying the evening. If you've never been to an open mic, that's the basic setup: a rotating door of comedians, each taking a few minutes to test out new bits, try out a different delivery on a familiar joke, or just get some time on their feet in front of a live crowd.

What sets this one apart from a typical mid-week mic is the scale. There are 40 spots total for comics, which is a lot of ground to cover in one night. With that many people cycling through, you're going to see a wide range of styles and experience levels in a single sitting. Some comics will be polished and tight, while others will be working through rough ideas that aren't quite there yet. That's part of the draw—you get to see the process as much as the finished product, and the variety keeps the night moving.

Beyond the comedy, the club is running drink specials throughout the evening, so you can settle in with a drink while the lineup works its way through the night.
