A live music session by Austin artist Dom Francis at C-Boy's Heart & Soul Bar, free entry but 21+ only.
Dom Francis plays C-Boy's Heart & Soul Bar on Monday, September 14, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. He's an Austin artist who describes his approach as more about creating worlds than just writing songs, and his music draws from folk and rock without sticking to one genre. He talks about his songs drifting through shadowy dreamscapes, desert highways, and crooked back alleys.
Francis didn't start here. He was raised in the Northeast and spent time in El Paso, Missouri, and Appalachia before settling in Austin, and those different places show up in his work. His debut album, The Wanderer, is described as playing like a midnight postcard—all analog warmth, raw edges, and lyrics that linger. His sophomore record, The State of Things, came out this past February and brings a different energy to the mix: electric rock n roll.
Between the two, you get a look at where he's been and where he's headed. The Wanderer sits on that folk and rock foundation, while The State of Things pushes into louder, more electric territory. The set should pull from both, so you'll hear the analog warmth of the debut alongside the energy of the new record.
