Dom Francis

Dom Francis plays Sam's Town Point on Sunday, August 23, at 9 PM. It's a solo bill, so the whole night is his.

Francis is an Austin-based artist who blends folk and rock into what he describes as shadowy dreamscapes that stretch across genres. He grew up in the Northeast and spent time in El Paso, Missouri, and Appalachia before settling here in Austin, and that kind of distance shows up in the music. His debut album, The Wanderer, is described as analog warmth with raw edges, and his sophomore record, The State of Things, is out now.

This show is part of the venue's 'Cocktail Steel' series, so you'll get a full set from him. With two records under his belt, there's enough material to pull from both the debut and the newer stuff. If you've only heard one or the other, this is a good chance to hear them in the same room.
