Dirty Sound Magnet play The Far Out Lounge & Stage on Thursday, September 17, as part of Ripplefest Texas 2026. They're a Swiss trio from Fribourg, fronted by Marco Mottolini, Maxime Cosandey, and Stavros Dzodzosz, and the set is part of a run that stretches from Thursday through Sunday, September 20.
If you haven't come across them yet, their sound sits right in the middle of a few very different records. They talk about a love for The Doors and Led Zeppelin, and you can hear that classic rock weight in the riffs, but they pair it with the cutting-edge side of Queens Of The Stone Age and King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard. It's a mix of heavy psych and desert rock that doesn't lean too hard in either direction.
By 2023, they'd put out four albums, with Dreaming In Dystopia arriving through Wild Thing Records. They spent that year touring Europe and the UK, so they're coming into this show with plenty of road behind them. The set will draw from that catalog, with the newer material sitting alongside the older records.

The Far Out Lounge & Stage is a South Congress bar and self-billed concert hall and gastro pub, located at 8504 S Congress Ave. It was a 2019 Best of Austin Critics Pick for "Best New Reason to Exit Slaughter Lane." The venue is 21 and over, and there's a Hopfields food trailer on-site if you want to eat before the music starts.
