Concert by Deadeye, an Austin-based Grateful Dead tribute band, at the Radio/East venue.
Deadeye play Radio/East on Friday, October 23, for a night of Grateful Dead music. They're Austin's Grateful Dead tribute band, founded in 2010 by Joe Faulhaber and Shadd Scott, and they've been at it for over fifteen years now. The show is built around two sets of Dead music, and they work through the entire catalog rather than sticking to a few favorites. They describe themselves as loyal to the original tradition while bringing a fresh, modern approach to the songs.
The lineup includes Lee Braverman, with Devon McDermott sitting in on occasion. The night is presented by Radio/East, one of the three locations of Radio Coffee & Beerโthe shop that's been voted Austin's best coffee shop ten years in a row. It's known for live music, trivia, food trucks, and a laid-back outdoor patio, so it's the kind of place where you can hang out before and after the music. The show is open to all ages.
