Dave Scher plays The Continental Club on Tuesday, September 15, performing as the Dave Scher Trio. He's an Austin artist who spends a lot of his time as a sideman for well-known local acts, but he's at his best when he's leading his own trio. That's the version of him you'll see here: his own songs mixed with inventive arrangements of popular and classic covers from across all genres.
The venue is The Continental Club at 1315 S. Congress, which opened in 1957 and was taken over more than thirty years later by Steve Wertheimer as an anchor for touring and local Americana, rockabilly and swing. Its Tuesday happy hours mix sultry jazz, country and blues, and the room was named the Austin Chronicle Readers Poll's 'Intimate Live Music Venue' in 2023, 2021, 2019 and 2017.
