A children's storytime event celebrating the release of 'Brave Belle's First Halloween' with author Cindy Vanous and illustrator William Flint.
BookPeople is hosting authors Cindy Vanous and William Flint on Saturday, August 1, for a storytime celebrating the release of Brave Belle's First Halloween. The book follows a tiny but determined dog named Belle, who spends her first Halloween figuring out what's actually scary and what's just part of the night's magic. It's a playful, tender children's story, and having the author and illustrator there together gives it a nice personal touch.
Cindy J. Vanous is a Texas-based children's book author who says her stories come from the small things she notices in the world. She writes around themes of kindness, belonging, and seeing the beauty in all things. This is her second picture book; her debut, Asher's Christmas Adventure, came out in November 2024 and picked up a five-star Readers' Favorite review and a Barnes & Noble review. She works with artists who share her preference for a classic, hand-drawn style, and William Flint is the illustrator on this one.
