Author Andy Amendola reads his book The ABCs of Racing and signs copies at BookPeople.
Andy Amendola is coming to BookPeople on Tuesday, October 20, to read from his new children's book, The ABCs of Racing. The reading runs from 10:30 to 11:00 AM on the second floor, with a signing line to follow.
The ABCs of Racing is a picture book for kids aged 3 to 8 that takes young race fans through the alphabet and into the world of Formula 1. Across 34 pages, Red Racer and Roxy the engineer introduce real racing concepts—aerodynamics, pit strategy, and race-day teamwork—with illustrations by Wei Ren. The pages draw on real tracks and racing moments from around the world, so it's as much about the actual sport as it is about the alphabet.
Amendola is the founder of Red Racer Books, a proud Hispanic American and father of two who discovered his love of motorsports later in life. He started writing for children after finding very few books about the sport, and The ABCs of Racing is the result. After the reading, he'll be signing and personalizing copies. To get a book signed, you'll need to buy a copy of the event book or an item of equal value from BookPeople.
