Weekly Chicken Shit Bingo game at The Little Longhorn Saloon, a traditional honky-tonk bingo experience with country music, drinks, and free hot dogs.
Chicken Shit Bingo is back at The Little Longhorn Saloon this Sunday, August 9, from 4 to 8 PM. It's one of those Austin things that sounds like a joke until you're actually there, and it's exactly what it says on the tin: patrons buy randomly selected numbers and wait to see which one the chicken does its business on. The person holding the winning number takes home cash.
For more than 50 years, the Little Longhorn has called itself Austin's original home of Chicken Shit Bingo, and it's a game they've hosted for over half a century. The saloon itself has sat at the center of the city's honky-tonk country scene for more than four decades, drawing on bingo and live music six nights a week. They book more than ten bands weekly—over 600 a year—so the music doesn't stop when the bingo does.
Beyond the draw, the afternoon is rounded out with drinking, free hot dogs and old-school country music. The saloon bills itself as the "honkiest tonkiest beer joint in town," and that's a fair description for a place that's spent decades as a country music hub. If you're not there for the bingo, the live music keeps the floor moving.
