Death metal band Carnifex performs live at Come and Take It Live in Austin, with support from Winds of Plague, Maul, Future Ghost and God Eater.
Carnifex play Come and Take It Live on Friday, October 9, with doors at 6:30 PM. They're bringing a full bill with them: Winds of Plague, Maul, Future Ghost, and God Eater. The whole night is presented by Come and Take It Productions and is open to all ages.
Carnifex is a death metal band from San Diego, and their name comes from the Old English word for executioner. They started in 2005, when vocalist Scott Lewis and drummer Shawn Cameron formed the group. By the end of 2007, they'd rounded out the lineup with guitarist Cory Arford and bassist Fred Calderon. Their debut album, Dead in My Arms, came out in 2005 and sold more than 15,000 copies. The Diseased and the Poisoned followed in 2008, moving 28,000 copies in the U.S. alone. They released Hell Chose Me in 2010 and then signed with Nuclear Blast, where their debut album for the label, Die Without Hope, was produced by Mark Lewis. The band prides itself on savage, pyrotechnics-free live performances.

The rest of the bill—Maul, Future Ghost, and God Eater—fills out a full night of heavy music. Tickets run from $29.97 to $33.06 in advance, and $38.22 on the day of the show.
