A weekly vinyl night where attendees can bring their own records to The ABGB.
BYO Vinyl Night is back at The ABGB this Tuesday, October 13. The premise is exactly what it sounds like: you bring your own records, and they get played. It's a weekly thing, so if you miss this one, there's another chance next Tuesday.
For those who haven't been, The ABGBβThe Austin Beer Garden Brewing Co.βis a brewery, venue, and restaurant on West Oltorf. It's a local hangout and a fixture of Austin's creative community, and the taproom is open Tuesday through Saturday, closing on Mondays. The space works as a brewery and a spot for live music, so it's as much about the beer as it is about the records.
On a BYO Vinyl night, the music comes from the people in the room. You bring a record from your own collection, and it gets spun on the house system. It's a low-stakes way to hear your favorite albums on a bigger set of speakers and to find out what everyone else is listening to. Since it's a weekly event, you can keep coming back with different records each time.

It starts at 6 PM, and entry is free. The ABGB is at 1305 West Oltorf, and since the taproom is open Tuesday through Saturday, you can drop in for a beer and stay for the vinyl.
