Bubba Lucky, Loteria, and Saigon Sinners are all playing Chess Club on Friday, August 28. It's a three-band bill that runs late into the night, with each act taking a turn on the stage rather than sharing a single set.
Bubba Lucky opens things off at 10 PM, followed by Loteria at 11 PM, and Saigon Sinners taking over at midnight. If you only have a few hours, you can catch one or two; if you're staying for the whole run, you'll be there well past midnight. The music starts at 9 PM, so there's a bit of a gap between doors and the first set.
Chess Club is at 617 Red River in downtown Austin. It's an intimately designed, vibrant facility that books up-and-coming bands and underdogs, playing the room formerly known as Plush. It's a small space, so the music stays close to the crowd.
