Annual dance party tribute to the Dirty South with DJs from across the region, with proceeds supporting DAWA's charitable work.
Body Rock ATX returns to Sahara Lounge on Friday, September 4, for a night DAWA calls its annual tribute to the Dirty South. It's a dance party that pulls from the dance music scenes of cities across the region—Atlanta, Houston, Miami, and Memphis—and brings them together under one roof.
The lineup features DJ Chorizo Funk, Riders Against the Storm, and DJ Cortez, with each taking a turn behind the decks. The night is presented by DAWA, which bills Body Rock ATX as "Austin's sacred dance institution."
There's a charitable side to the evening, too. DAWA describes the mission as "giving to the givers," and ticket proceeds go toward their charitable work. The invitation for the night is simple: dance, sweat, and connect on the floor.
