A night of two-step dancing with a dance lesson led by Native Texan and a live set by Blake Whitmire.
Blake Whitmire brings a night of two-step dancing to The Highball on Thursday, August 13. He hails from Lubbock, and the whole evening is built around two-step music, starting with a dance lesson from Native Texan before the live sets take over. If you've never tried it, that's the best part of the night: you can learn the steps at 7 PM and then actually use them for the rest of the evening.
The lineup runs through three distinct slots. It opens with that 7 PM lesson led by Native Texan, followed by Blake Whitmire at 8 PM, and then The Jerrells at 9:30 PM. Between the lesson and the two live acts, there's plenty of time to get comfortable on the floor before the music kicks in.
The Highball is an Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar venue, and this night falls under its LGBTQ+ programming. It's for ages 21 and over, so keep your ID handy. Parking is free, which is a nice change of pace for a South Lamar spot.
