Youth choir from Austin led by Gavin Tabone, specialising in Grateful Dead and classic rock.
Barton Hills Choir returns to ACL Live at 3TEN on Sunday, November 2. It's a youth choir from right here in Austin, with members ranging from third through twelfth grade, led by Gavin Tabone. They've made a name for themselves by taking classic rock and Grateful Dead songs and rearranging them for a full choir, so you're getting a very different take on songs you probably already know.
They've performed rock classics at ACL Live at 3TEN before, and they've also played the Austin City Limits Music Festival. The Grateful Dead side of things is a recurring part of what they do, and they're known for bringing that same classic rock focus to the stage. Because the choir pulls from such a wide age range—third grade up to twelfth—you'll see kids of all different ages singing together on the same set.
