Barbie Dream Heist opens at the Butterfly Bar at the Vortex on Thursday, September 4, and runs through September 12. It's a theatre piece that puts Barbie and Ken in the middle of a race against time: they're trying to stop Clos.IT's madness before the spring fashion show kicks off. If you've got a soft spot for the dolls, this is their world turned on its head.
The show plays mostly late, so it's more of a nightcap than a matinee. Most performances are on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 PM to 11 PM, which fits the Butterfly Bar's late-night energy. There are two mid-week and weekend exceptions to keep in mind: Wednesday, September 9, from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM, and Sunday, September 13, from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM. That Sunday show actually falls a day after the run is listed to end, so it's a good one to keep on your radar if the weekend dates don't work for you.
