Annual conference supporting entrepreneurs with expert-led sessions and a resource expo, themed 'Small Business Strong'.
The Austin Small Business Connections Conference returns to the Palmer Events Center on Wednesday, August 19, from 8 AM to 2:30 PM. It's the fourth annual edition of the event, put on by Austin Small and Minority Business Resources in partnership with Austin Economic Development and Austin Financial Services. The day is built for a broad mix of people: established owners, aspiring entrepreneurs, freelancers, independent contractors, and nonprofit leaders. It combines expert-led sessions with a resource expo that brings together City departments, local lenders, chambers of commerce, and nonprofit business support organizations.
This year's theme is Small Business Strong, a nod to the resilience, creativity, and economic impact of Austin's small businesses. The sessions cover the practical side of running a business—access to capital, marketing, contracting with the City, navigating permits and licenses, and building business resilience. Between the talks, the resource expo lets you walk up and talk to the people who actually handle those things, from City staff to lenders and support organizations, all in one room.

It's a free event, open to the public, and they validate parking. You do need to register through Eventbrite, though, so get that sorted before you head over. Doors open at 7 AM, and the conference runs from 8 AM to 2:30 PM on Wednesday, August 19, at the Palmer Events Center, 900 Barton Springs Road, Austin, TX 78704.
