36th annual capsaicin celebration with hot sauce tastings, vendors, live music, food trucks and the Hot Sauce Competition.
The Austin Chronicle Hot Sauce Festival returns to Austin on Sunday, August 30, marking its 36th year. This is the one that's become a real Austin tradition: hundreds of hot sauce tastings, fiery goods for sale, cold drinks, live music, local food trucks, and vendors. The festival's signature Hot Sauce Competition and People's Choice voting are back, too, so you can taste your way through and vote for your favorite.
This year it's moving to a new home at Radio/East, located at 3504 Montopolis Dr. The lineup of hot sauce purveyors and sponsors changes with every edition, so the sauces you'll find this time around will be different from what showed up in previous years. Between the tastings, there's live music and food trucks on site, and the whole thing runs from 3 PM to 9 PM.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Austin and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

Tickets are $20 in pre-sale and $25 at the door. If you're planning to go, buying in advance saves you a few bucks, and since it runs through the afternoon and into the evening, you've got plenty of time to work your way through the sauces without rushing. It's on Sunday, August 30, from 3 PM to 9 PM at Radio/East.
