Legendary singer-songwriter Art Garfunkel headlines the 2026 Andy Roddick Foundation Gala at ACL Live.
Art Garfunkel is playing ACL Live at The Moody Theater on Monday, November 9, as part of the Andy Roddick Foundation gala. It's a solo appearance, and he's headlining the evening.
If you're not fully caught up on the name, Garfunkel is one half of Simon & Garfunkel, the duo that put out Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M. in 1964. When producer Tom Wilson redubbed "The Sound of Silence" with an electric backing, it went to number one, and the two went on to release five studio albums before splitting after Bridge Over Troubled Water in 1970. On his own, he scored hits like "Bright Eyes" and worked in film, with roles in Carnal Knowledge and Catch-22. He reunited with Paul Simon in 1981 for a concert in Central Park.
There's a bit of history behind the voice, too. He met Simon in the sixth grade, and they performed as Tom & Jerry between 1956 and 1962. Garfunkel took the nickname "Tom Graph" because he liked to track hits on the pop charts. Later he studied art history at Columbia University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts and then a Master's in mathematics. He's an eight-time Grammy Award winner, including the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee; Rolling Stone named him one of the 100 Greatest Singers of All Time.
