Bell is a Chicago blues veteran, and having him lead a Blue Monday bill fits the room. Antone's has been Austin's home of the blues since 1975, and the list of names that have passed through its doors reads like a history of the genre: B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Jimmy Reed, and Ray Charles. It's also the place where local figures like Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Bob Schneider, and Gary Clark Jr. played their early sets. This particular Monday marks 51 years since the club first opened its doors in downtown Austin.
Blue Monday is a regular fixture at the club, and this anniversary edition puts Bell at the center of it, with Mantovani and Stivers rounding out the lineup.
