Country cover band All Hat No Cadillac performs live at the historic Broken Spoke honky-tonk.
All Hat No Cadillac are back at the Broken Spoke on Saturday, September 19, playing the dancehall from 9 PM to 1 AM. They're an Austin country cover band that makes a living playing dance halls and public shows, and they hold residencies at both the Spoke and Sagebrush, so this is one of their regular nights rather than a one-off.
If you've never been, the Broken Spoke is a Texas Historical Site that opened in 1964, billed as the 'Last of the True Texas Dancehalls.' It's a live-music honky-tonk that pairs country and two-stepping with homestyle meals—the chicken fried steak is the one everyone talks about. They run two-step lessons Wednesday through Saturday and dinner-and-show nights Tuesday through Saturday, so there's plenty of reason to arrive well before the band takes the stage. The place also just got a bit of a refresh: a 2024-2025 Heritage Grant from the City of Austin and Visit Austin paid for a new electrical system, roof and paint, along with a new patio roof and fencing.

All Hat No Cadillac fits right into that setting. As a cover band, they play the country hits you know, and they're built for a dance floor rather than a seated room. Between their residencies at the Spoke and Sagebrush, they spend most of their time in dance halls and at public shows around town. On the 19th, they'll be taking over the dancehall from 9 PM to 1 AM, so you've got a full night of dancing to work with. If you're not quite ready for the floor, you can always start with dinner and a lesson earlier in the evening.
