Alejandro Escovedo & The Electric Saints

Alejandro Escovedo plays Central Machine Works on Friday, October 16, with his band The Electric Saints. It's a free show, so you don't have to shell out for tickets to see him back on an Austin stage.

Escovedo is a name that's been a part of the city's music scene for a long time, and this is a full-band night rather than a solo set. He'll be backed by The Electric Saints, the group he's been touring and recording with, so you'll get the full sound rather than just a stripped-down version of his songs. If you've only ever heard his records, this is the kind of show where you can hear how those arrangements translate to a live room.

The show runs from 7 PM to 11 PM, and because it's a free one, there's a bit of a catch you'll want to keep in mind: you need to RSVP by October 15. It's not a ticket you buy, but it is something you have to do ahead of time to get in, so don't wait until the day of the show to figure it out. If you're planning to go, getting that RSVP in by the 15th is the only thing you need to handle before you head over.

So, Alejandro Escovedo and The Electric Saints at Central Machine Works, Friday, October 16, 7 PM to 11 PM. It's a free show, provided you RSVP by October 15.
