A night of African and Afroswing music with Zoumountchi, Micah Shalom and an Afro Jazz DJ, featuring a free dinner buffet and food trailer.
Sahara Lounge is hosting Africa Night on Saturday, August 29, a full evening of African music and afroswing that runs from 7 PM until 2 AM. The night is built around a free dinner: it opens with the Africa Night buffet, and a food trailer serving Mediterranean dishes follows later, alongside craft cocktails and non-alcoholic options. Sahara Lounge is an East Austin live music venue and bar known for its relaxed, eclectic atmosphere and for hosting live shows most nights.
The music kicks off at 7:30 PM with Afro Jazz, followed by Micah Shalom at 9 PM and Zoumountchi at 11 PM. Zoumountchi comes from Niamey, Niger, and Micah Shalom is an Austin artist. Between the sets, the buffet and the food trailer keep the room fed, so you can settle in for the whole night rather than just catching one act.

Because the music stretches from early evening into the early morning, you can arrive whenever fits your schedule. If you're there from the start, you'll get the buffet and the Afro Jazz set; if you show up later, you'll catch Micah Shalom and Zoumountchi. The food trailer and the bar stay open throughout, so there's plenty to eat and drink between the stages. Entry is $12 cash or $14 by card.
